Progress Report

I'm almost finished with the database diagram for the site. I have identified the tables needed to begin programming as well as the relationships between those tables and types and sizes for each field in the table. The next step is to create the tables in the database and populate them with some test data.

In the meantime we'll need to start looking at sites with good designs that we can use for our site. Once a design has been chosen we'll need to create mockup's for each section of the site. This will be used to visualize what that particular section will look like once it's been completed.

Next steps:
1. Create tables and populate with data
2. Choose a good site design (buttons, headers, etc...)
3. Create basic mockup's of the various sections
4. Start the coding process

Continued progress

The following items have been completed:

- Install the LAMP server
- Install mysql admin for interfacing with the database
- Run PHP test script
- Create initial list of concepts to be used to create classes

Today I hope to complete the functionality list for the site and create a test script to access the database. At some point in the near future I'll need some test data to populate the database.

Below is a list of things that I need for you to start researching:

- List of sites with appealing designs (layouts, buttons, borders, etc...)
- Start compiling that list of books that we discussed some time back. I'll send you the format for the import file in the next couple of days. I already have some onfile, but will need more in the near future
